Fusidic Acid 20 mg, Beclomethasone Dipropionate 0.25 mg Cream
This combination cream is a topical medication used to treat inflammatory skin conditions that are also infected with bacterial pathogens. It combines an antibiotic (Fusidic Acid) with a corticosteroid (Beclomethasone Dipropionate) to provide dual-action relief.
Components & Their Roles:
- Fusidic Acid (20 mg):
A bacteriostatic antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effective especially against Staphylococcus aureus and other Gram-positive bacteria.
- Beclomethasone Dipropionate (0.25 mg):
A potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, redness, and swelling in various skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or allergic rashes.
Indications of Fusidic Acid 20 mg, Beclomethasone Dipropionate 0.25 mg Cream
- Infected eczema or dermatitis
- Bacterial skin infections with inflammation
- Seborrheic dermatitis
- Atopic dermatitis
- Intertrigo
- Psoriasis with secondary infection
Dosage & Administration:
- Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1–2 times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
- Not to be used for long periods, especially on the face or in children, unless prescribed.
Precautions:
- For external use only.
- Avoid prolonged use to prevent skin thinning and the development of resistance.
- Use under medical supervision during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Do not use on viral, fungal, or untreated tuberculosis skin infections.
